Investigate and Survey

The process from the receipt of the laboratory preparation notice on September 15, 2017 to the completion of teaching in December is another perfect combination of Shenzhen Speed and German quality. After receiving the notice, the teachers of the Sino-German College of Intelligent Manufacturing began to communicate with Mr. Schrammel, an OTH engineer of the Regensburg University of Applied Sciences over the issues such as water and power standards, brewing equipment and auxiliary facilities. The picture below shows the equipment of Mr. Schrammel in the OTH beer brewing laboratory.

On September 19, 2017, Prof. Franz Raps, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, Augsburg, Germany, visited the school and exchanged details on the power supply voltage and control system of German brewing equipment.

After conducting multiple investigations on domestic and foreign equipment, considering that Chinese beer equipment companies can meet the European bear equipment export qualification, all equipment was purchased in China, which is more convenient for installation and maintenance. In late September, the college inspected many beer equipment manufacturers. The picture below is the scene of the inspection at Dongguan De Ao Beer Equipment Company.

After the investigations, we drafted an inspection report and sent it to Mr. Schrammel. We continued communicating with each other on details. After learning about the manufacturer and its product quality, he was very supportive of purchasing the beer equipment in China.

Purchase

In October 2017, we successively determined the laboratory site and required equipment and conducted tender procurement, including 100L beer brewing equipment, bottle washer, water purification machine, experiment table, constant temperature and humidity cabinet, and refrigerator. In November, we implemented the details of teaching content, procurement of raw materials and other works, and commenced site renovation and hydropower network laying of the laboratory.

In December, the site renovation was completed. With the experiment table, bottle washer, constant temperature and humidity cabinet and brewing equipment on site, installed and commissioned, the laboratory preparation tasks were completed with high quality and efficiency, and the laboratory has reached the hardware and software requirements for teaching and research.

Establishment

On January 25, 2018, the first Sino-German joint laboratory of Shenzhen Technology University, the Sino-German Joint Beer Brewing Process Control Laboratory was officially inaugurated. School leaders participated in the inauguration ceremony and proposed higher expectation for the future development of the laboratory. The laboratory has received the wide attention and reports of media in the province.
